Capture One has announced that Capture One Express will be discontinued and no longer available as of January 30, 2024. For years, Capture One Express was a free alternative to various RAW editing programs, offering a stripped-down version of the paid software—until now.
According to the press release, “we are continuously working to improve our tools. To provide our users with the best creative and user experience, we need to focus on our core products.” This means that Capture One Express will no longer be available as of January 30, 2024. Users can therefore use the RAW editor or download it from the website until January 30; after that, Express license keys can no longer be activated, and all support for the software will end.
According to the press release, images and settings can also be easily transferred to the Pro version. Users simply need to open their Express catalog after launching Pro, and they can pick up where they left off.
